Steve Anderson is a devoted father to his son Will and the lifelong guardian of the spirit and legacy of his daughter, Liesel, whose life continues to inspire others to Love Big. Shaped by profound love, unexpected loss, and renewed purpose, Steve carries forward the belief that compassion, connection, and generosity can transform even life’s hardest chapters. Through his journey, he has learned that while none of us can control the storms we face, we can choose how deeply we show up for one another. Today, Steve brings that heart into every space he serves, committed to helping families feel supported, seen, and never alone.
Why they're involved
In 2019, Steve and his family’s world changed with Liesel’s cancer diagnosis. Throughout her courageous fight, the Supporting Kids Foundation provided vital financial support that allowed Steve to remain fully present by Liesel’s side, without having to take on additional work to keep up with everyday bills, freeing both time and resources to focus on treatment and on simply being together. When Liesel transitioned from this life on June 28, 2021, Steve’s grief became intertwined with deep gratitude for the stability and compassion SKF offered when it mattered most. While no family should ever have to endure such a journey, Steve is honored to transform this chapter of his life into advocacy, carrying forward Liesel’s message to Love Big by helping ensure other children and families receive the care, dignity, and hope they deserve. Serving on the SKF board is both a tribute to Liesel’s legacy and a commitment to walking beside families through their most challenging moments.
